ARSE end of the Earth

ARSE end of the Earth

As our Prime Minister stated at some stage this year, "Australia is
at the arse end of the Earth".  ICR2, GP Manager2 and Virtual Karts
have all been released in the states.  Then there were some rumblings
about things running late in Europe.  How is this:

I have rung the major game store in my state and they have repeatedly
told me that none of these games will be released until at least mid
January in Australia.  Just think, everyone is waiting for GP2 before
March, we will be lucky to get it before June.

Australia really is at the arse end of the earth when it comes to
software delivery.  It is about time the major companies started
paying more attention to the global distribution of their products.
It gives a company no credibility to have it products raved about in
one country, while the rest of the world is forced to wait.  Why are
we any different to america.

If anyone suggest it is the time it takes to get the product here
then that is bullshit.  The product is usually made in advance and
can be shipped straight away, not three months later.  All I can say
is that I WILL NOT be purchasing ICR2 or GP Manager2 because of these
reasons.  So if it is low sales volumes that keep you away from
Australia, they just got lower.

Any replies to this are invited and lets here from some more
disgruntled purchases.  The more we pressure the more we might get.

I agree are these software company's stupid or something why can't they market their product in a
country of approx. 17,000,000 there has to be a viable market.

ARSE end of the Earth

Delaying software to particular parts of the world is really crazy in
my opinion.   Software is not like the latest movie where it may be
sensible to hype it up by pre-releasing it in certain areas.   Dont
Microprose/Papyrus realise that the software will be pirated (probably
on the day it is first released), and delaying the release in one part
of the world must seriously reduce overall sales?   I dont condone
s/ware piracy at all, but when software is available in the USA and
not available here for 3 months or more, its going to happen!

any comments from the reps of Microprose/Papyrus?
