How to test my system?

I just put my system together, and I was wondering what are the best
ways to test my system's performance.  I have heard of different little
programs that come up with ratings when they are run. In Nascar 2 I seem
to come down to 13 or 14 fps under the heaviest trafic.  I have a Matrox
card, so no 3d, but until I see it on someone else's computer I don't
know what I am missing.

  Don't, whatever you do DON'T look at a 3d enhanced version of ICR2 or
N2.  You may suffer checkbook deflation.
