Here I am again with another video card problem. In addition to slow frame
rates with a Hercules prophet 64 meg card, the dash display starts flashing
between white and red about 40% through the race. I can hit escape, wait a
minute and come back to race and it quits for the rest of the time. What's
happening? I've downloaded all the latest drivers, etc and have a 500MZ
system with 352meg of RAM. I'm running NASCAR 3 and have downloaded all the
patches for it and the craftsman truck series.

Perhaps another kyro II owner could chip in, but it sounds like a memory
overload of some sort.  Since it happens after a certain amount of time, and
it can be corrected by pausing, That sounds like a buffer or something is
overflowing.
Remember you are trying to run a game that was not intended for the
PowerVr chipset that comes with the Kyro II.  You can run d3d but I don't
think N3 is specically coded to handle graphics like the Kyro does.
Perhaps Eric could answer some of this...but he generally only responds to
N4 questions these days.
I guess try the simple things and see if they help..
set your desktop to 16 bit color..reduce the screen resoloutions,  does Kyro
do fsaa?  if so turn it off.
good luck

Thanks Dave. I've done all you suggested. It sounds logical. The question is
Is there anyway to fix it. Who's Eric? Maybe I could contact him direct.

Eric Busch,  a former user from here who now works at Papyrus.  Sure we
gave him his start, helped him, nurtured him, and now he's a big cheese  :)
{think he even remembers us?}
Check out threads that have N4 in the title, he recently weighed in on a
couple of subjects.
good luck
