Not a troll. I was very e***d about this sim. I ordered it from
England (Canada), and I'm hoping it turns out to be the GPL of
motorcycle sims.
There are a lot of people discussing digital throttle/brake controller
set-ups on the GP 500 web site. They are turning pretty good times like
that.
After spending some more time with GP 500 over the weekend, I've got to
say it is a very good sim. I guess my fear is that they've built in too
much software smarts (ABS braking, and throttle control) when you use
digital controls.
If you have the throttle or brake set up for analog, and try using them
as on/off, you crash, which is what I would expect. But if they are
set-up on a switch control, the software intervenes and helps a lot with
the braking and acceleration. I sincerely hope they haven't made the
software help smarter than any human driver with analog controls can be.
I don't want to be continuously beaten by someone using the software
assist, and just punching buttons on a game pad.
