I believe that always say they passed at the hospital for insurance
and other legal reasons. But like Senna I'm pretty sure that he was
not alive when they put him in the ambulance.

Schrader certainly seemed to know it. I taped the race because
I was busy during the afternoon. When we saw the interview with
Schrader knowing that Dale died, you could tell that Schrader
knew.

Yup I agree. Kenny knew and the look on his face said it all.
The fact he got right out and went over to the car that took him out
of the race also says he knew even before the cars stopped.

Seeing the replay of the final laps on Fox Sports Net yesterday you could
also tell something was terribly wrong by listening and seeing DW. He was
thrilled for Mikey, but kept saying he hoped Dale was ok. After a while he
seemed to almost forget about Mikey, and had a look on his face like he knew
something was terribly, terribly wrong as he looked down to T4....

Hard to see after knowing the final result. I guess I kinda knew from DW's
reaction and seeing Kenny, but I didn't want to believe it could happen to
him. I held on to some hope until there was an official annoucement but I
think I knew deep down....

A quote in today's C***te paper from Waltrip - "We were supposed to grow
old together....". You could tell he had looked forward to "bench racing"
with him and the others from his generation, like Richard and Bobby and Cale
from the generation before....
