Waving hand of the driver ahead

Waving hand of the driver ahead

Has anyone suggested that when a driver hits the brakes harder than
usual, the car behind them should see a waving hand come up from inside
the car.  Sort of how they do in rear life. In addition to the waving
hand under hard breaking, one should be able to assign the last
remaining push-button on the T2 as a waving button.  If you see trouble
ahead of you or you are pitting, you push the button. The driver behind
you will see you waving from inside the car and will know to be extra
careful.

This of course is an alternative to the Ctrl-Fx keystrokes.  I don't
have 3 hands. :-)

Hi Dave,

First let me say thanks for the MP analysis page. I use it for reference
on qualifying setups and sometime just to see who's who out there.

The waving hand is a novel idea. Of course there's always the drivers
who'll be crying wolf and waving all day!  Most times I'd just like to
be able to wave the middle digit instead of the whole hand!<g>

Someone once suggested adding brake lights to the cars. I think I find the
waving hand a little more palatable. I would definitely like to see the AI
cars give some sort of signal that they are pitting. Too many times I've
been taken out by an AI car suddenly crossing the track in that weird move
they do, or checking up hard in front of me.

David,
You're a prime candidate for a Verbal Commander! (I'm just a customer too.) Its
a headset/microphone that you can program up to 20 Verbal commands to emulate
keystrokes with. When I say "Slow Down!", the auto-chat message that appears on
screen is "W_Cheeta Waving Hand-SLOW DOWN!" It's not quite as visible as Your
excellent (and VERY realistic suggestion), but it's close, at least in a league
race, where people know whos in other cars. Check it out at www.k2i.com .

Wade:

Have you seen the section that Dave Thayer wrote on the VERBAL COMMANDER
as part of the UNOFFICIAL NASCAR 2 MANUAL.  Look at the VERBAL COMMANDER
FOR PIT COMMUNICATIONS and ADVANCED VERBAL COMMANDER..
