N3 in the UK - impressions after one hour's play

Went to EB early this morning and - at last! - it's here!!! (only one copy
on the shelf after I bought mine though).

Well has it been worth the wait? Emphatically yes.

This is a bigger advance in gameplay than N2 was to N1. One can't help but
wonder just how fabulous it would have been with the GPL engine but,
regardless of those thoughts, it is a superb game in its own right.

The main points of the news after an hour's play (I'll post again after a
full morning's play) :-

- The opponent AI is in another league when it comes to racing.

- Graphically and sonically on a different planet by comparison to N2

- Vastly improved GUI interface

- Generates tons of Nascar atmosphere

- Super track graphics and (thus far) no pop up at all.

What I don't like :-

- Slight opponent "wobble" when you get close to a car (does this in both
glide and direct 3d)

Oh well that's all for now - suffice to say go out and get it now - it's
thin on the ground in my home town.

Kind regards
Chris

<snip>

Thanks for the thoughts.

Can't wait to get home and try my copy - unless my wife confiscates it as a
Christmas present, which she is wont to do when I spend money on myself at
this time of year...

Cheers,
