WHERE CAN I FIND THE ORIGINAL INDYCAR PROGRAM?

I'd like to purchase the original IndycarI Papyrus program, but Sierra has
dumped it from their product line. Chips n' Bits carries something they
call the Indycar Compilation cd, but I can't discover what the contents
might be. I'm especially interested in locating the Indianapolis track so
I can convert it for use with ICR2. Besides, I'd just like to try the
original program as well....I hear it's a bit easier to drive.

CompUSA on Long Island, NY has been dumping ICR1 for $14.99 this weekend.
As far as the Indy track, I've been looking for that one with no success.
I've checked Sierra, and they say that they don't carry it any more.
If anyone else has a source for the Indy Trackpack, I'd appreciate the information

This past weekend I noticed the original ICR in the Sierra Classics section
of CompUSA for $14.95.  This, however, does not include the Indianapolis
track which has become very hard to find.

You also mentioned that you had heard it was a bit easier to drive.  I
don't think so.  Most people seem to feel that the original ICR was
virtually impossible to drive without getting hit.

I'm on the lookout for this one too, please post any info instead of
e-mailing.

Thanks.

AI was much better on ICRII so you did get hit more in I, but handling
was less finicky in ICRI.

Earlier this summer I looked and looked and looked and...FINALLY found
ICR1 bundled with the Indy expansion track at...The Indianapolis Motor
Speedway Gift shop. They had a few left then...I don't know if they
would still have any or not. IMS Gift Shop is not exactly most people's
first thought when it comes to computer software SO they may still a
have a copy or two.

I don't have the number but you should be able to get it from
information (area code 317). They have a mailorder section and also a
trackside shop (open) SO you might have to talk the trackside shop into
shipping it if the warehouse is empty.

Maybe...

It's available in the UK on the *** 'White Label' (budget) - so I would
guess
it is still being "pressed".  I would imagine Papyrus sold the rights so it
could
be sold on budget, so maybe there is a budget label in the 'States that has
picked it up ?
