SoCal. He has in stock the 1998 Season video of the BTCC Car races in
England. And guess what? Though this was NOT the season of the Audi like 96
was, and though there was not too much coverage of the Audi cars in this
one, this WAS THE MOST EXCITING SEASON of racing I have ever seen! Unlike
the past years where in mid season you basically knew who was going to win
the season, this year it was down to the last race!!! And ohhhh the
e***ment! As I have been heard to say before, these BTCC drivers make
NASCAR drivers look like Boy Scouts! There was so darn much action in every
race in 98, and towards the last few races it looked like demolition derby,
there was so much carnage. These guys were serious, and nothing was going to
get in their way! I HIGHLY recommend getting this tape, even without too
much Audi content - it is too exciting to pass up! Oh, and towards the end
of 98, it looks like the Audi driven my Muller was starting to do very
well - not 1st place, but 2nd and 3rd! Too bad Audi pulled out of BTCC in 99
(or forever????), it really looks like their FWD cars were starting to get
dialed in :(
If any of you are interested in the video or car models, I got it at a BMW
shop called Bimmers Clinic in Reseda, CA. George the owner is a old style
Hungarian who takes his work serious as a Craftsman from the old country.
But as he is also an enthusiast, he started a Boutique in his repair shop
(clean enough to eat off the floor too!) and carries everything imaginable,
even Arton Senna ties! He has a website:
http://www.racesimcentral.net/
If you go there, just tell him Mike Z sent ya ;)
PS: And those of you who like circle tracks, just watch this movie once, and
you WILL be converted! There is more to life than pedal to the metal and
turn left!!!! :)
