Another thread got me pondering this...
(Colorado)
Standing at the top of the famed Pikes Peak Hill climb course the
representatives of the FIA announced their group had purchased the
organizing rights to the Pikes Peak Hillclimb.
Plans call for moderizination of the treacherous course so that it
conforms to established FIA safety regulations.
On another note, the EPA announced that the FIA had filed for a
enviromental impact survey to determine the effects to local wildlife if the
mountain was lowered from it's current altitude of over 7500 feet to that of
just over 3.....feet. In addition the 12 mile course, featuring over 150
turns will also be shortened to just under 2 miles in length to provide a
climb of under two minutes, the FIA optimum time.
It will also be renamed to the "Pikes Peak Slighty Uphill Performance
Display Course."

Speaking of this... we need a sim with the PPHC modeled!

I read a review earlier this week
http://www.gamezone.com/gzreviews/r18141.htm about a new game called 4x4 EVO
2. The review refers to driving up and down Pike's Peak. I can't tell you
any more than that but maybe it's worth checking out?

Not a pc sim, but on the Playstation (Grand Turismo 2) they have Pikes
Peak don't they?

4x4 EVO 2 is very similar to 4x4 EVO 1 except that it is a good deal worse.
Both games suffer from awful interface design, poor feature sets and bizarre
physics. I'm afraid there's no Pike's Peak Hill Climb of any interest in
either game, though the ability to make user-addon tracks (and there are
many fun ones out there) is one of the games' few redeeming qualities.

IIRC it's not the same, it just "looks" like a hill climb stage, but it's
not as long, nor it has the same complexity/danger.
