Hi,
Does anybody know of a way to make the engine note in F1RS louder than the
opposition (or make the oppositions quieter). When in traffic it's
difficult to pick out your own engine, and hence know when to change gear.
Cheers,
Steve

Hiya Steve, I haven't heard from you in ages!
One thing you could try is taking the appropriate samples and
increasing the volume of your car in a WAV editor and decreasing the
volume of the CCs. The sounds are just stored in WAV format in a
subdirectory, so it should be easy to do. You can also change the
sample and use a better one such as the GP2 one.
Cheers!

modify this file:
c:\Ubisoft\f1rs\cpa\dll\Snd_cpa.ini
change the followings lines :
SXD_DIST_SATUR=5 for SXD_DIST_SATUR=1
and also:
SXD_DIST_FADE=75 for SXD_DIST_FADE=15
you will understand your car in every race situation , traffic or none no more
JERKS in the first corner even with 22 cars.

Hi John,
Likewise!
Thanks for the pointer WRT to the WAV files, but the better method is to
edit the f1rs\cpa\dll\Snd_cpa.ini file, as Guy suggested, which does the
trick nicely.
Thanks to Jeroen who mailed me with this solution.
Now if I could only find a way of getting quicker times... <g>
Steve.
