I'm seriously considering breaking out my old TM Pro and restoring it and
putting it back into use.
I'm not sure I like these new digital wheels and their 1024 'steps'. I
think I prefer the good old fashioned analog way of doing things.
I can't afford an ECCI or other *** wheel.
Is there a place to get GOOD replacement pedal and steering pots for the old
TM Pro ?
I assume the TM Pro works with N4...

Another problem is the lack of ANY resistance around center on the
straightaways. I think this is an N4 problem as it only occurs on the
superspeedways. It causes you to drift all over the place. It's like you
turned of FF with the button in the middle of the wheel.
The MSFFW has the best pedals in the business, and that's the main reason I
stick with it.
The SideWinder software is the pits, and is never updated.

AFAIK analog wheels have to convert that analog-signal to 1024 'steps'
before sending the information to the computer. I am not sure about that
value 1024, but still the idea is: analog-signal is converted to digital
before computer or game gets the information.

The Game Port provides some sort of Bias voltage, and reads the resistance
in pots to determine the game controllers location.
Analog devices are virtually stepless as far as I know.
There _are_ some wheels (the Andretti wheel, for one) that use analog pots,
and convert that to digital before supplying the data to the Game Port.
True analog wheels, such as the Nascar Pro, are really analog. They do NOT
send digital.

Ok. You are right and I stand corrected. Still the program has to use data
as digital and usually programs use axes from -1023 to 1023.

Check with these guys. www.thundervalleysims.com
I'm not sure what you are looking to spend but their pricing is on their
page.
Hope this helps,
