rec.autos.simulators

Does anyone know how to create newsgroups?  I think we should create 3 new
newsgroups for Nascar 2.  I think they should be:

1.  rec.autos.simulators.nascar2.cars
2.  rec.autos.simulators.nascar2.utilities
3.  rec.autos.simulators.nascar2.links.

That way everybody can post files in a newsgroup.  Or they can tell us of a
site where we can get some files.  Does anybody agree?  Just a thought.

Umm, not quite.  Your plan would still wind up with binaries being
posted to non-binaries news groups.  While posting binaries to
non-binaries groups is a breach of "netiquette" and will generally
result in a minor flame war, the larger problem is one of disk
space on news servers.  If sysadms start seeing their disk space
being consumed by the presence of binary files (utilities, track
editors, etc) in traditionally non-binary groups, they may simply
elect to stop carrying those troublesome groups.  So what appears
to be a minor breach of "netiquette" can cause severe problems for
other people, and possibly yourself if your sysadm elects to drop
your favorite group.  

This is why groups like alt.binaries.simulators.autos exist.

Not a bad idea but why JUST FOR NASCAR2?????????
I think that here 60% of the people are Nascar fans but others (not me)
are Gp2 fans.  And I'm also an avid Icr2 fans.  If there's a split here
(witch I think will happen when*** Trickle will won a Winstoncup race)
I think it will be like this

rec.autos.simulators.
rec.autos.simulators.openwheel
rec.autos.simulators.stockcar     ('cause when they will be the split N3
will be out)
rec.autos.simulators.others

I think it's pretty fair.  But don't flame me 'cause I want the r.a.s.
split.  It's not as messy like rec.arts.sf.starwars.*    i think that
when we will have more than 200post each day it will be time to split
up.  But 99% of SimRacers will say that were kind'a redneck here and we
want to be a little private communauty.  Thanks a lot,

I don't think it should only be for Nascar 2.  It's just the only game I
addressed because I only play Nascar 2.  Anyways, does anyone know how to
create a newsgroup with Internet News?

The groups you have suggested won't even get that far, because binary
groups are not allowed in the rec.* hierarchy.

A while ago I created alt.binaries.simulators.autos for auto-sim related
binaries. If you don't receive this group, then contact your ISP and ask
them why.

Note, creating groups in the alt.* hierarchy is a lot easier, involving
a discussion period in alt.config and then issuing a group create
command if no objections are raised. Nascar related subgroups to a.b.s.a
could be proposed, although I suggest that you consider something like
the "openwheel" and "stockcar" suggestion made by Fran=E7ois M=E9nard. I.=
e.,
alt.binaries.simulators.autos.openwheel and
alt.binaries.simulators.autos.stockcar.
