Over the last few weeks, I have read and responded to many of the
articles in this newsgroup about Grand Prix Manager. It was refreshing
to find that I was not the only one who thought that it was a good game
with the potential to be great if a few things were fixed. To that end,
I posted an article here inviting other users to e-mail their comments
to MicroProse, to see if we couldn't get a patch disk or something.
I have now sent at least half a dozen e-mails to MicroProse (they must
be getting sick of me...) and yet I haven't had a single reply. Total,
stony silence. Has anyone else that e-mailed MicroProse got a reply
from them? If so, what did they say? I can't work out if they can't be
bothered to reply or if they are just shy. I mean, how long would it
take someone to send an e-mail saying 'thanks for the comments, it's
being looked into'? Or failing that, if they are overloaded with
e-mails from users like myself, how long would it take to post an
article to this very newsgroup?
I must say that it annoys me when software companied keep their
customers in the dark about the products we buy. Okay, so most of their
stuff is great, but there are no perfect games. Surely it would only
help their future sales if they responded to user criticism, and tried
to put things straight. Grand Prix Manager, as it stands at the moment,
is virtually crippled to the serious player because of the legions of
bugs that it contains. All I want is an acknowledgement from someone
that they are looking in to it.
So, come on MicroProse, don't be shy. If you are going to release a
patch then tell us. Even if you aren't going to release a patch at the
moment, again stand up and tell us. I for one would really like to know.
