GP2 Slipstream Bug

GP2 Slipstream Bug

While qualifying in Monza, I saw a strange and welcomed push in my
back going the straight/finish line. I always moinitor my speed going
over the line to have an indication of how well I took the Parabolica.
To my big surprise, 200 m before the line, my speed went up very
quickly for about a second, exactly like slipstreaming. Although I am
not 100% sure, I have got the feeling that a car was going down the
pit lane and it gave me its slipstream. I was in fact very close to
the wall. Although it seems to be a bug, it also reflects the fact
that the slipstreaming effect is calculated only from the speed of the
car getting the effect and not at all from the speed of car in front,
which is wrong.
Anybody experinced this?

If you understand what's going on when your behind a car at 320+ kph,you
have to consider that your front wing suffers from low volume of air
caused by the car in front of you. When slipstreaming and passing a car,
you have to get behind at some distance and SMOOTHLY change your line to
pass the car. When i say SMOOTHLY you have to understand it's relative
of what you were doing. Other consideration in racing situation (setup)
try not to have a car that might oversteer with rapid transition in
steering. I have seen very often with all the hotlap replay and there
setup that everybody use like: 9-12 deg FRONT wing & 1 deg REAR, that's
good when you're alone and master your car, but in real life and racing
situation it's suicidal!

Good luck, Eric
