Does anyone know if they still hold any races on the old Nordschliefe
circuit? I remember a few years ago seeing a German touring car 24 hour race
there (They had some great in-car shots, mainly because of not many
cameras!)

You can indeed - and there are not many rules apart from you must have
road-legal silencers on your vehicle. Just about anything else goes.

Hi there,

there are still Races hold at the Nordschleife, the 24hrs Endurance Race and
the Veedol-Langstreckenpokal, an Endurance Race Series with about 6 Races,
each about 500 km long. And at Eifel Klassik in September you can see 1930's
Mercedes SSK's screaming around the 'ring. This is absolutely incredible

greetings from Koblenz, Germany

Yes indeed you can, several people on the NG have done it,
including me :-)   <--- This smile is not as big as the one I had
and the end of each lap

Its only 17DM per lap,  an absolute bargain.

Uh, what's that in 'Yankee' dollars? <g>
Like if I could afford to GO to Germany, I'd complain about the price of
admission...  :)

Hi Michael,

There is a  German Touring Car race at the old ring called:
" The Nrnburgring 1000 km "

Yes 1000 and not 100 :-)
It's a bit like Le Mans, but the Le Mans circuit is not impressive...

Believe me once you had driven a lap you wouldn't be complaining!
Probably about 10 dollars?

Worth doing if you can get to germany!

Thanks for the info - I will certainly try and go to see one of these next
year!

That sounds good - any V16 Auto-Unions? :-)
