Nice job with Watkins Glen Tom!!!

As much as an improvement as was made by DG to the GPL N'ring ( similar
feel - less 'vivd' and more 'real' )

Two things - (having not seen WG on TV for N'cars this year) - are the
Best-Buy ad's that garish and scarey? And I get a heavy ping tinge to the
Fox Camera Tower after the hairpin - which fades to normal as it gets
closer. I'm guessing this is due to some sort of alpha channel m'larkey in
the texture.

I have a league race there on Sat PM - it'll be my last N2k2 race - but as
least it'll LOOK nice!

Cheers

Doug...

Glad you like the WG re-textured track.  I actually have an updated version
which will be posted at the US Pits sometime next week.

Your questions:

1.  Re: Best Buy ads:  Yep....those are just about exactly like the ones at
the track on WC day....except the real track has about 50 of them
everywhere!
2.  There's no "hairpin" at WG...and there's four towers with two of them
referring to "Fox" in some way (by virtue of the banners on them).  Which
one specifically is getting a heavy "pink" color (I know what causes
that....but I didn't think it would do it "selectively" on some systems and
not others.....it doesn't do it on mine)?

Good luck at your league race....

Well - the longish corner after the chicane.  It's about 1/3rd the way down
the last straight before the left - short straight - right to the finish
line.

My knowledge of WG geography's fairly bad!

This is the only one I've noticed the pinking on - but then, I've not
noticed the towers anywhere else.  This really stood out in the distance.

IF it helps - WinXP, GF4Ti4600 and the err, 30.something's. ( checks nvidia
website)  30.82's ( not gone to 40's at home yet)

I'm running at 1280 x 1024 with Quinqux AA on.

Cheers

Doug...

Thanks, I know which "tower" you are speaking of now.  That is one of the
towers....that's only rendered in that one spot.  So, troubleshooting this
issue will be helped by that.

I need to know what your mip slider setting is at...and whether you have
"Compress to DXT3 instead of DXT1" is checked or not.  Also, are you having
this problem on any other tracks you've downloaded from me.

Doug, send me an email and I will send you the file that "paints" that
tower, directly from my hard drive.  That way I'll insure that there's not
something corrupted with your file in the download/install process.  This
"purple" problem has been reported to me by a few others.....I'm trying to
track it down as best I can.  You could help, since you are the first one
reporting this as a problem at WG.

Thanks,

Tom

Not tried any other tracks unfortuantely - and now, just when I want to take
a look at additional properties - Windows XP throws a fit with rundll and
nvcpl.dll.

I'll sort that and get back to you.
