Sprint Cars - How To Drive???

Without wanting to ignite a PC vs. Console flame war (as I do both) I
just bought the WOO SprintCars by Ratbag for the PS2.  I have to say it's
very very good.  However I don't really watch WOO far less ever driven one
so I guess I don't have much of a comparison.  That said it's a very
enjoyable game.

My question is how do you drive one for speed.  Brake, no brake? Flat,
lift?  High, middle , low? Fastin slow out, Slowin fact out?   I realize the
answer might be, depends on the track, the car and the traffic.  But in
general what is the quickest way around?  I can use all of the above
techniques and come out with about the same time, ie. middle to back of the
pack.

TIA

If some kind person would take pity on me and answer not only the above
but a rudimentary setup rules that would be much appreciated.

Slide, dude... Slide! The rear wheels are ALMOST ALWAYS loose. The
frontwheels
are once in a while OFF the ground... They're on the ground just to keep
the car
sliding...

Try to watch a race on the ***tube, some are lift/plant/life/plant, others
moderate the accel pedal, ALL GET THE BACK END OUT.  That's doesn't even
include steering controls.

Well if you are turning the wheel left you are not doing it right. :)
Driving style varies alot, but if it ain't slideways it ain't fast. I run
Ratbag's PC Sprint car game and I don't use hardly any brake. If I do use
the brakes its to set the car for the turn. I'll run more brake on the left
front so that the car will start to turn all on its own with a press of the
brake. I usally pitch it sideways entering the turn and walk it out of the
corners and hammer it on the straights for as long as they last. :)

I've never been able to do that.  Don't know why, but it's holding me back...at
least with THAT game...
