Hey, What are you all running?!

Hello again everyone,

If you don't remember me, I brought you the original 3dfx patch for Cart
Precision Racing from respectable :Source" so if ya remember me, Hello
again. If not, well now you know me ;)

Any ways, I sold my 12mg Voodoo2 card a while ago when I was getting
burned out on *** but I'm getting the itch again and I want you guys
to tell me what your running for your systems for stellar game play.

I have been hearing that the most affordable "game" setup is the Albit
BH6 board with a Intel Celeron 333, is there any truth to this? Are the
Celerons still over clocking in the mid 400hz range? With the board and
chip your only in the mid $200.00 range which is perfect for what I'm
wanting to do, build a faster game machine.

Thanks for your input and look forward to hearing from you all.
Best Regards,

Hi!

I just got a BH6 and a PII 350.

I got the opportunity to buy a couple of Celeron 300a cpus (Both Malaysia
week 42). Both run reliably at 463.5 mhz at standard voltage. One of them
runs at 500 also at standard 2.0 volt.

The Celeron 463A is about 25 % faster than my PII 350 in GPL, so I threw the
350 out of my system ;-).

> Best Regards,

I run an Abit bx6 (basically the same as a bh6 m/b) and a 333A
Celeron cpu, but this cpu only o/clocks to 375!    8-(

I've heard the 300A is *much* better at o/clocking, 450 is almost
guarenteed? (The 300A is multiplier locked at 4.5 so 4.5 x 100 is
easy, however, the 333A is multiplier locked at 5, and 5 x 100 is
pushing it a bit too far!)

Make sure you do get a 300A or 333A as these cpu's have the 128kb
cache, the plain 266 & 300 Celerons do *NOT* have the 128kb cache,
and beleive me, the cache makes all the difference.

Also invest in some pc100 (100 MHz) SDRam memory as this will help
your system fly using the 100MHz front side bus on your new m/b.

Even using my bx6 with the cpu at a *measly* 375Mhz, and 128Mb ram
and Voodoo2, it still really kicks ass......

8-)
