have been playing Grand Turismo 3 for a while, graphics cool but thats about

that if i got the adapter and plugged the wheel into the ps2 i wouldnt have
to go and buy a new wheel for the playstation2 (cos it has usb ports on the
front) can anyone please confirm or deny this for me as for living in NZ id
have to order the adapter and wait for a couple of weeks b4 getting it

Well, the question is... Did you see a gameport to USB adaptor, or did
you
see a USB to gameport adaptor? Those are two different things as far as
I
am concerned. :-)

He said gameport to USB. IOW, the wheel has a gameport connection. That
would plug into the adapter, converting the connection to a USB
connection. He would then be able to plug it into his PS2. What part did
you not understand?

As for the answer, I would like to know myself. I have a Logitech
Wingman Formula GP wheel (gameport) that I would love to be able to use
with GT3. I don't know if the PS2 is programmed to only understand the
signal from a Logitech Driving Force wheel or if any wheel would work.
One problem that I can see is that you won't have all of the buttons
that are on the PS2 gamepad, so how will you navigate the menus?

You can use the Logitech Formula GP directly on a PS2. Just plug it in
and it works.
