I've had some difficulties in getting into magdanoz.mcafee.com by ftp
(no connection).  I think this is the RARS ftp site, but are there any
alternate sites available?

               NEW FTP SITE FOR RARS

The new ftp site is:

ftp.best.com and the directory is /pub/ijs/rars
all incoming files should go to   /pub/ijs/uploads

When you log on as "anonymous" you won't be in the upload directory,
you will be in the root directory.  Therefore, do:

cd /pub/ijs/rars

to get stuff, or do:

cd /pub/ijs/uploads

to upload stuff.

Note: avoid doing 'dir /pub' There are over 1000 directories there.

Which is the toughest (most challenging) NASCAR series?

It looks like there are a lot of 1st's in IWCC and a greater speed
spread. (At least at Bristol).

Can someone tell me why the races are shortened? Why not run them all at
100%?

Thanks.

Jeff

with:

The toughest so far is IGN's Elite series -- that, and the IROC series being
run by John Knowles.

There are two reasons for that -- first, since the sim came out, people have
more practice time on the tracks.  100% opp strength used to be a challenge,
but it isn't any more what with good setups and lots of experience.  Next
season's IWCC will have 102-103% opponent strengths and a stronger AI.

Simply because running 100% races take spare time that some people don't have.
50% races are long enough to be a challenge but not long enough to monopolize
all your free time.

Would you be able to spend 4 1/2 - 5 hours in front of your monitor driving on the
Monster Mile?  :)
