Which processor to overclock?

500E or 550E seem to be best value so far. Make sure your using an non-agp video card. ...or have a new type AGP
video card like GeForce...

Which processor to overclock?

I have yet to find out the success rate, but the Coppermine Celeron 566
seems to be an incredible candidate.  With a 66MHz front-side bus standard,
the coppermine core should easily do 850MHz (8.5x100), and obviously you can
still use your pc100 ram!  These babies are only $150-$160 depending on
where you look.  I'm trying to figure out how to get one as soon as
possible, hehe

p.s. these are the fc-pga style, so you'll need the newer slotket converter.

then I think I'd go with the 450.

Which processor to overclock?

Richard, I would wait and go for one of the newer Celerons.  For example the
533 can be overclocked to 850 and the 566 to 1GHz.  This is because they
have very low voltage and they have the p3 internals (with less cache).

Guys, etc,

It looks like it's getting to the point where I'm happy enough with the
price of stuff to go for an upgrade.

I'm planning on going to a 500Mhz processor, but have just been struck by
overclocking thoughts.

Which processor is the best to go for?

ie, if a 450 can be overclocked to 700, but a 500 would only go to 600, then
I think I'd go with the 450.

I'm a bit out of touch with clock speed multipliers etc.

Thanks.
