Recently after we had sent out messages I received this message
from a very upset FINN... He has lots of things to say about my
IVGA and its software. As some of you know I am also the owner
of the PROWHEEL. The best steering wheel system on the market.
I believe very strongly in our product that I have developed and
offer a CHALLENGE to Mr. THUD. I am going to E-MAIL him a copy
of our FASTLAP program and if he breaks it and can send me a results
back that we cannot detect as invalid, than I will give MR> THUD
gladly a brand new 1996 PROWHEEL. This is a $250.00 value so lets
see if MR. THUD can use his brain and hack our software..
Sincerely,
Donald R. Wilshe II

>Don,
>It is interesting to read your stuff on various mailing lists and
>newsgroups. In fact, IVGA is popping up everywhere. I don't understand
>how you, as an outsider, can suddenly appear out of nowhere and
>in effect 'challenge' the validity of every online racing series on
>the net with statements like "defend the HONOR of IICC". Most
>dedicated online racers (I count myself as one of them), spend endless
>hours testing and practicing at various tracks. If you run 20+ hours
>at Laguna Seca for instance, I bet you'll have a pretty good idea
>of what the limits of the sim are. The same applies to every other
>track in INDYCAR or NASCAR. IICC for instance, just had its first
>anniversary, and IWCC is in it's 3rd season. Those of us that have
>been around from the very beginning of IICC know the other drivers
>and what they are capable of. If there is ever any doubt about
>results or record-breaking laps, we have more than enough experienced
>drivers to evaluate the validity of any results that are questionable.
>There is no way you can create a 100% cheat-proof series, and your
>programs and patches won't eliminate those talented hackers that are
>out there. Those who want to win by cheating aren't in it for the
>'sport', and it has been documented that these people soon tire
>and lose interest anyway. There is no need for a 'governing' body
>of the kind you are trying to establish yourself as. We do not
>need an FIA or CART to watch our backs. If there is ever any doubt
>about any records or results, just ask for a replay... IICC is
>_the_ toughest and fastest racing series on the net, and we don't
>have to prove ourselves to any outsiders who suspect our speeds.
>Believe me, there have been numerous critics on rec.autos.simulators
>over the past year that have categorized our results as 'impossible'.
>If everyone practiced as much as we do, they'd find those speeds
>very 'possible'... Unless you've conducted serious inside testing
>and know the exact limits of the software, you have no business
>insulting us with your ignorant statements.
>Happy Thanksgiving!
