HACK IT OR SHUT UP CHALLENGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by Don Wils » Sun, 26 Nov 1995 04:00:00

To the viewer of the REC.AUTOS.SIMULATORS

Recently after we had sent out messages I received this message
from a very upset FINN...  He has lots of things to say about my
IVGA and its software.  As some of you know I am also the owner
of the PROWHEEL.  The best steering wheel system on the market.

I believe very strongly in our product that I have developed and
offer a CHALLENGE to Mr. THUD.  I am going to E-MAIL him a copy
of our FASTLAP program and if he breaks it and can send me a results
back that we cannot detect as invalid, than I will give MR> THUD
gladly a brand new 1996 PROWHEEL.  This is a $250.00 value so lets
see if MR. THUD can use his brain and hack our software..

Sincerely,

Donald R. Wilshe II
CEO/PRESIDENT - IVGA/PROWHEEL

Don,

This whole thing of yours is really pompous. The racing series that I have
run with IICC, ICRA, ICRS have had no such vanity. At first I thought you
had a good idea but when I saw that you had a list of corporate officers,
etc, I laughed out loud! By the way, contrary to your opinion, I love my
TSW.

Sincerely,

Jeff Haas

: I believe very strongly in our product that I have developed and
: offer a CHALLENGE to Mr. THUD.  I am going to E-MAIL him a copy

You have COMPLETELY missed Riku's point. The fact that software
isn't 100% crack proof was obviously a side note.

The point is how incredibly insolent your insinuations are that anyone
who doesn't use your software is a cheater, and any records they set are
not to be believed since they didn't use your watchdog software.

You've essentially came onto the net accusing the fastest veteran racers
of being a bunch of cheaters and liars if we don't use your software.
All the IICC'ers put in tons of hours and we all love intense competition.
Many rookies who came in and enjoyed the extreme competition have
developed their racing skill enormously, which has made for more
diverse and competitive racing.

The idea that those of us in the IICC cheat is pure stupidity. Yeah, we
all compete fiercly on who can hack up the best lap...give me a break!
On almost every track, the top 5 hotlaps (fastlaps) are VERY close,
and new records are set everytime we visit a track.

You should try being more of a racer/enthusiast and less of a
businessman/politician.
Insulting those who have paid their dues, been around a long time, and
set the speed standards shows a lack of respect, integrity, and logic.

 > To the viewer of the REC.AUTOS.SIMULATORS

Don't people interact here, not just "view"..?

 > Recently after we had sent out messages I received this message
 > from a very upset FINN...  He has lots of things to say about my

Hang on... "He"? How do you know this person is male? You go on and
on quoting "he", and "MR", when you don't even know who "he" is!

 > As some of you know I am also the owner of the PROWHEEL.
 > The best steering wheel system on the market.

It's better than the Thrustmaster Formula T2??? That means that the
PROWHEEL *must have* "active feedback" as in the arcade Sega Rally?
Sounds good!

Considering who you are writing to, and who is reading this group,
isn't this just free advertising? I'm not sure I'd want your
product if you paid me, thanks. It sounds a bit expensive, but if
by offering this "prize" it boosts your sales then feel free..
