"Cracking" down on warez

As Dave Cook mentioned, PWA got busted. But why not all the other big warez
sites and groups. I mean, their so patheticly easy to find. There's many
lists with like "The top 10 Warez sites" and stuff like that, many sites
with pirated software, and many cracking groups. I dont even think PWA was
that big. I would have though tthey would have cought all those cracking
groups we hear of like Myth and Class. (the only ones I know of). Im glad
the government is stepping in on this because if they dont really dont bust
those warez sites, software programming could become unprofitable once
everyone starts getting ADSL and Cable modems. (Im getting my ADSL modem the
26th, Yipee!)

Just a controversial thought.

BTW, Im not an anti-piracy ass hole. I'll admit to downloading Super 1
Karting. But I will buy it, when I can find it.

Thanks,
Alex

As of the 26th we will start paying $50 a month for 604kb a second for Bell
Atlantic ADSL. It was either that or Telocity :)

Thanks,
Alex

In British Telecom's case, about 2013. Sheffield. one of the ten
biggest cities in England, isn't even on the second phase of BT's
rollout, so I expect people like me will have to wait until London has
the next tech but three.

For people living in Sheffield, Yorkshire Cable will launch their cable
modem service in November.  It'll be 50 per month compared with ADSL's 40
for bascially the same service.  Still, it doesn't compare with $25 (US,
equivalent to about 15) for a similar service in the US.

Actually, the $25 service I had seen advertised only had 64K download and
upload, kind of an economy cable modem service.  I think the prices for the
proper 512K service are more like $40-50.  Sorry about that.  :)

Great. That makes me (in Worcestershire) even more depressed. We
haven't even got cable yet where I live, and aren't likely to.

If you have Hell Atlantic, get to know these two sites very, very well.  You
will need them!

http://www.dslreports.com

http://63.162.136.120/bell/

I was with BA for 28 days... down for 18 of them.  There is now a class
action suit taking place that you can read about on that second site.

Most of them are international, loosley knit groups of people. You can
areest a few individuals here and there, but it's impossible to shut
down a group.

The DID, in the big sting last year. It didn't even slow them down.

Does that include the ISP Fee's?

Man, I would LOVE to pay that!

I have RR Cable in Fairfax, VA, and it's "ok".  We are throttled to
1.5mb/sec max download, and 192k upload.  That would be fine if you
could actually _get_ it most of the time.

Don't get me wrong.  It beats the hell out of ISDN and modem, and I
would never go back to either, but I pay $55 per month for this and
for 1.5mb/384k _dedicated_ bandwidth I would pay the extra $25!

I'm also annoyed at the $10 per month 'punishment fee' because I only
have basic TV cable!
