qualify "on pole" in GP2 was taken.
Also who are the drivers. It looks like DH on pole with MH second and
either DC or AS fourth. Anyone know where and when this was taken?
TIA

To start with it must be 1994 - as this was the year on which GP2
was based - and can't be earlier as the Williams were in the (then new)
Rothmans livery. It wouldn't be Senna in 4th - in all 3 of his races for
Williams he qualified on pole. The front row was DH followed by MS only
once, at the British GP. But on this occasion the Ferraris occupied the
3rd row and Coulthard was 7th.
I haven't looked at that picture closely for a while - is it possible
that the poleman is Senna? If so, the front row was Senna-Schumacher for
the first 3 races. In Brazil Hill was 4th, and pole was on the right. In
the Pacific GP Hill was 3rd, pole was on the left. In San Marino Hill was
4th and pole was on the left. So I think the picture is from either
Brazil or San Marino, depending on which side is pole; if the poleman is
Damon rather than Senna then it's possible the photo was touched up so as
not to show Senna who was not included in GP2.

[snip]
Pole is on the right (as you sit in the cars) and the car there is
Williams number 0 (with someone 'apparently' wearing Hills helmet - but
all this could have been touched up I suppose). Second place appears to
be Mclaren No 7 - which is what I suspected to be Hakinnen.
I wonder if this picture has been totally doctored ?

Oops... I misread "MH" as "MS". The only time MH started on the front row
was at Monaco, alongside Schumacher. So either the pic is doctored, or it's
a picture of the 2nd row of the grid or something.
