Where the x's are the IP adress you want to ping (make one space between
ping and the first number). Then if you want to see if there are some bad
routers type tracert instead of ping.

I presume you want to check your ping to a potential host? Try this...
1. Open START | PROGRAMS | MS-DOS BOX
2. Type: ping -n 10 204.50.1.1 then press ENTER
The IP address 204.50.1.1 should be changed for the actual IP you want
to check.
Use the MIN/MAX/AVERAGE values to grade the ping as good or bad.
Jason.

Could you tell us what you tinkered with? It could be that you choose a bad
host that day for GPL. Is there a friend using the same ISP and in the same
city that you could "test" with? The latencies should be the best in that
situation.
In GPL, you can exit chat, press ALT-L then enter chat to get your current
latency and quality.
Latency - The lower the better. Hopefully around 0.350 or less.
Quality - Closer to 1.0 the better. Its the ratio between packets
expected and packet received.
If your latency and quality are good, it could be the other drivers are really
bad.
Jason.
