$8,000 Club, Put Out Or Dont Expect Us to Support Your Company

On-Line Simers:

I have been actively involved in sim racing for at least 6 years.  In all that
time I would have to say that only 2 companies that make any hardware
have ever given us racers prizes that exceeded $10,000.  This was all to
evident at TEN.  Here the racers were dropping a ton of money monthly
and what did we ever get.

Aureal is one of them and there recent bad news, was double bad news to the simers.  Recently I read that they were having tough times and that is certainly bad news for us.  Although I have contacted many Sound Card Companies,
none of them have ever offered sound card donations to sim racers.

The other donator was Thomas Engineering.
http://www.racesimcentral.net/; Trevor Thomas and Dave Thomas Jr. have been extremely generous in giving any league at any time wheels for there racers.

Now you might think with about 20,000 of us here that more hardware companies would want to donate and get our business.  But that simply hasn't been the case.

I would ask you drivers to think twice about who you purchase your equipment from in the future.  Support the vendors that care about you.  This is not an endor***t of TE, its just that they are the only one left on the list. hehe..

Would certainly be nice to see a company that makes any of these parts to step up and offer us something.  I tell you the company that does.  Got my support and when #2 comes along, Well I'm not a whole lot interested in johnny come lately.

If I was a hardware company I would put up $50,000 contingency pot for the support of 20,000 sim racers, and when people won races and were using my parts they would get money.   Just like in NASCAR, NHRA, SCCA, WOO or any other form of racing.  Oh well rambling on here 2 long...

Well back to beta testing.

I'm sorry but I don't see how giving away a load of stock makes good
business sense. I'd rather buy my hardware from a company that's making a
profit so that hopefully they'll still be around should I need the hardware
serviced ;)
