NR2003 Can't Set Options (re-post)

by The Other Dou » Mon, 02 Jul 2007 02:41:14

...apparently my first post has disappeared...

I haven't used my NR2003 in quite a while as there has been an issue that
prevented me from opening the "options" menu.  Every time I try, the game
crashes to the desktop.

Last night I bit the bullet and uninstalled it then reinstalled but the
problem remains.  Any ideas?

I can't recall if I had used the game since I installed SP2 since it was
long ago.  My son has a renewed interest in the sim and wants to race his
old man but I can't get mine up and running properly...and I have the
"better" computer.

AMD Barton 2500
Abit KV7
2 ea WD 160GB SATA
ATI AIW9600 w/128mb
2GB Ram
Win XP SP2

Did you use any tweak programs like nr assistant or whatever thats
called? when you uninstalled the game did you also delete the entire
papy folder left over? I believe it will keep all the files that are
modified after you installed, like the core and app.ini files,so it may
be keeping the file thats giving you trouble..just a guess.

Yup thanks that did the trick.  glad I saved all my downloaded mods, cars,
tracks etc to a seperate folder.
Guess that isn't much of an "uninstall" is it?
