Help Just Getting Started

by Ray For » Tue, 30 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I have loaded and reload N2, add memory, and fried a mother board, and I
still get the same message when I try to run:
" The program encountered an invalid page exception.
   Fault Location 010F:0DE5
   Interrupts in service: None "

I am running with Win95 on a AMD K5 chip at 166 mhz, 48 megs of RAM,
Horizon 64 video board, and pass all the pre-install test with flying
colors.

Can anybody help?  I have already been to through the FAQs with no luck.

Thanks in advance,  Ray

Can you run N2 in a pure DOS environment?  Also have you patched it with
the latest patches?

Try changing some of the memory settings in the properties of the
shortcut you use to start N2.  I don't have any trouble when I run the
regular N2 in a DOS box, but I had to mess with the memory page for the
Rendition mode.  Try selecting "none" for EMS & XMS memory.  Also you
may want to select the largest chunk of memory for DMPI.

One other thing you may want to look at.  Try notching down some of your
memory timings in your BIOS setup.
