They actually arrived Wednesday, but due to Fedex's "No-Customer-Support"
Policy for Home-Delivery shipments (I'm really not kidding. There is NO
customer support for this type of shipment) I wasn't able to get them until
Thursday.
These really are an improvement over the original ProMedia 5.1's they
replaced. I think the crossover points are much better for one.
If the space for your original ProMedia 5.1 Sub, which was already huge, was
a problem, then you'd better start making more room. It's hard to believe,
but the Ultra's sub is about 50% BIGGER than the original :)
In some ways I actually prefer the older style control pod. It took up less
room, and I preferred the individual controls for the Bass, Center and Rear
control. With the new pod you have to press the appropriate button, then
use the volume knob.
One major improvement is they got rid of the 'accelleration' feature of the
original pod's volume control, which was more of a hinderance than a help
for most of us.
I have to say Klipsch's service has been outstanding. They replaced an over
2-year old speaker set that originally only had a 1 year warranty with their
latest, upgraded set and paid for all the shipping in both directions to
boot. Considering these things weigh 53 pounds, the shipping alone is a
substantial amount of money.
The whole thing only took 10 days.
