G-Force Controller

I would like to hear from anyone who is using the G-Force controller for
ICR and ICR II.  I can't justify the cost for the Thrustmaster 2, and
was wondering how good or bad is the G-Force.  Thanks

I tried one for a few days and returned it since it generated spurious
spikes in the ICR1 and ICR2 calibration setup.  When the wheel was
moved slightly to the left of center, the calibration indicator showed
considerable erratic signals to the right of center.

Maybe this was due to a malfunctioning unit or perhaps it was my
joystick port (gameport on PAS16 sound card in a P120). but whatever,
I didn't like the sloppy response and feel of the wheel.  Also, the
construction is not very robust. I've not tried the Thrustmaster
either though.

I'm currently using a MS Sidewinder 3dPRO joystick that is quite
precise (at least for a joystick and definitely no spurious spikes)
but am deciding whether to get a TSW or ECC system.  Both are quite a
bit more money, but its worth it to me since it makes the game more
interesting.

Thanks for responding to my question.  What kind of price was your sidewinder?
And if you are in greater Vancouver area, are you interested in driving
together over modem?
