Realrace Controller Problem

by cubb.. » Sat, 27 Nov 1999 04:00:00

I'm having a joystick configuration problem with the pistol controller
included with "RealRace" RC car simulator.  My other controllers; ECC
Steering Wheel, RealFlight Controller, CH FlightStick are all working
fine.

When I try and calibrate the RealRace controller only the "button" is
recognized.  The strange thing is if I then plug in a different
contoller I can calibrate and have control within the RealRace sim.  The
hobby shop where I bought it from has let me swap controllers from
another box but the same thing happens; so I doubt it is a physical
problem with the
controller.

I suspect this problem is somehow tied a DirectX 7 upgrade which is
required by the RealRace sim. The DX Diagnostic tool says there are no
problems with my input devices; however there are newer versions of
certain DX files including vjoyd.vxd and msanalog.vxd.  I have updated
SB Live drivers, I'm also using a PDPI card and Hecules Thriller video
card the most current driver (v085.3596)I can find.

Anyone have any ideas what problem is and how to fix it?

I'm having problems also.  But the supplied controller works, I find it VERY
sensitive and do not like having to adjust all the parameters in the
program.  I cannot get ANY other controllers to work at all.  If i install
one in Windows, when I start RR it is always replaced by the supplied
controller.  I would like my Serpent controller.  Any ideas??
