GP2: Interest in Circuit Maps?

by Quixo » Tue, 13 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hi all,

Been screwing around with ways to create circuit maps and have hit
upon editing the .pcx files contained in the GPManager/tracks folder.
I know that many don't have GPManager and so do not have access to the
track maps.

2 questions:

1).  Is there anywhere on the web to d/l basic track maps in order to
keep a log of speed and gears through the course (in the same manner
that ESPN2 does before the race usually using Tyrrell's data).

2).  If not, is there enough interest in obtaining a set of maps to
justify a zip package of maps which I could put on Gymer's web page?

Let me know if you are interested in the package and if enough folks
respond I'll complete the creation process and stick them on the page
by Saturday.

Track maps would be great!
It would be nice to have a map to look at in practice mode, so you can learn
which speed/gear to be in at each corner and so on...

The track maps on the site above SUCKS! SUCKS! SUCKS!
They are not accurate, indeed could be very misleading.

This site below is a little bit better, these tracks are from Tyrrell
Yamaha, they've got some gear, speed and G-force figures on the maps. But
still most of these maps are more or less different from the real layout.
I've been trying to find a set of very accurate track maps, but not done
yet.
