NR2002: No Race Save? No Problem! Hibernate!

Welp, I finally got around to trying this, and it works!

I hit pause in NR2002, then hit the 'sleep' key on my MS Internet Pro
keyboard (which I have mapped to hibernate in WinXP) and the computer
hibernated.  I powered it back up again, and lo and behold, the NR2002
screen came up saying 'press pause to continue'!  I unpaused the game, and
just continued on where i left off!

It's great unless you plan to use your machine for something else
between NR2002 sessions.

Cheers,

And, meanwhile, you wouldn't need the computer to do other things? -Yes, I
can see that working for a lot of people. <g, d&r>

When I have to break off a race, it's because I need my computer for
something else, otherwise I could just leave the game paused and turn off
the monitor.

game.

Why don't you just select the "Windowed" option and just pause the
game and then shrink the window? I use this and it works great. This
works good for me because I rarely turn my computer off.

Good point... haven't tried to run it windowed yet. Can one actually
multitask while it's minimized?

Usually I just unplug the phone and lock the door... low tech, but
effective. ;-))

Yes, you can minimize the screen to any size you want or minimize it
completely to fit on the task bar running along the bottom of the
screen and it works great. I have paused a race, shrunk the window,
and left it that way for a few days at a time before I could get back
to my race. It always amazed me how after a long length of time, how
once the pause button is hit to continue the race, the cars would just
continue as though I had just paused the game a few moments ago
instead of days. Anyway, you might give it a try. Get on the internet,
print anything, or play another game and it still works. Take care

I found an even better way around this - shorten the race length!

Yes, that's right, if I don't have time to complete a 100% race I
don't run a 100% race!  Amazingly, the feature works exactly as
intended!!  Great job Papyrus!!!!!!!!!111
