Though my replays start in full colors it only last some 10 seconds.  Then all
colors disappear except for the dark pavement, green grass, gray railing and no
logos/decorations cars.  Earnhart's appears totally black with nothing on it.  I
downloaded a replay.zip by Leonardo Candelario and it still performs the same.
Help appreciated.  Thanks

It sounds to me like you have some of your graphics in N2 set to Auto.  
Once the frame rate dips below a certain point, N2 starts automatically
turning off certain graphics to preserve the frame rate.  Try turning
certain graphics options on in the Options/Graphics screen.
