Has anybody had success in loading an image into N3? I did some editing in
PhotoShop and named it  t_player.tga  put it in cars directory and nothing.
I have spent too long trying to figure out what is wrong now I need some
help. Anybody?

Quick guess...

Photoshop requires conversion to 24 bit RGB for most of its filters to
operate correctly. (or at all!)  The readme states the file is in 16 bit
format.  Failure to return the graphic to its original bit depth and palette
will likely prevent it from loading.

I had hard time getting my pic into N3 as well.  I assume you read the
readme file, but here's the pertinent info anyway..........

------------------------

There is a file in the CARS directory called "drivpict.tga".  This file is a
16-bit TGA image that has been sized (181x167 pixels) to fit in the photo
region of the driver info screen.  You will have to use a commercial paint
program (Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, etc.) to edit the picture you want
to use in the game.  Save the file using the name of the car file you want
to match the picture with (e.g. t_player.tga for using the photo with
t_player.car).  Place that new file in the CARS directory.

Please note that if you're using paint Shop Pro to save your new driver
picture you need to first select Options on the Save dialogue. When the Save
Options appear, select 16 bit and Uncompressed. Then hit OK and Save.

---------------------

The thing that I forgot to do (2 or 3 times), was hit "options" when I was
saving my new TGA file, and set it for 16 bit and no compression.
