Sadly, GP2 can only be played with a maximum of two players.
Originally, GP2 could only be linked up via modem or serial
cable with acceptable results. An add-on program called GP2Lap
could, among other things, implement basic IPX networking
functionality, either using Win95/98 32-bit drivers or you had to
supply your own real mode drivers for your NIC's if playing under DOS.
Although this was an impressive bit of coding, the speed if the link
was, IMHO, not much better than a serial link.
The other drawback is that still only two players can link using this
method.
Like all things GP2, the the add-on and links are somewhat ancient now.
