GP2: Race Setups

I can run reasonably well in qualifying, but could do with a good race
setup to run at Interlagos.  I find that the qualifying setup I use
isn't forgiving enough for me to handle lap after lap.  I'm a bit too
clueless (and impatient) to develop one and wondered if anyone could
help

Cheers

For that matter, does anyone have a site with race setups for all the
tracks? Hotlap setups abound on the net, but all are useless for more
than a handfull of laps.

I would suggest taking those hot lap setups and working from there
to get setups for race. There are just a few rules:
1. Raise the ride height to check plank wear, increase wing to compensate for loss
of downforce.
2. Reduce gear ratios slightly (1 point) to optimise the lower power
band of the race engine.
3. Stiffen the car to retain handling characteristics with the heavier fuel load.
The first items to stiffen are springs, thereafter fast bump dampers. Reduce
packers to make handling more predictable and forgiving.

Have fun,

That is something we are in the progress of doing in the Sprtsims forum
on Compuserve. We have a database of the setups used by the best drivers
in last year's "mini" season of 8 races and will be adding to it as the
new season progresses.

We also have guides for most tracks which usually include at least one
race setup. Some of these are also published in Sim Racing News.

Cheers,
Richard

Sorry, they are only available to Compuserve members in the Sprtsims
forum. It would involve asking too many people to get permission for it
to be put on the web.

Hello Karl, i've created a website especially made for setups purpose
At this you can download and view (directly)  good QUAL & RACE
SETUPS. My primary concern on building these setups is CAR BALANCE
EASY ON TIRES, VERY FAST (at ACE LEVEL; always on pole), and
they are "drivable" NOT WEIRD SETUP here!

Take a look and tell me what you think at -->
http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2setup.html

Also i have made extensive research and wrote numerous article on
CAR SETUP (dampers,anti-roll bar vs springs rate, car height, and packers)
Also made a page on PERFORMANCE DATA ANALYSIS all under this:

http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/mysetup.html

Of course my main GP2 website is

http://infoweb.magi.com/~ericcote/gp2menu.html

You'll be surprise on the contents of information, Have Fun
