My darling wife just gave me a set of 3-day passes for the American Le Mans
race at Mid-Ohio in June and, never having been there before, I was hoping
that I could find a ***-version of the track and get to know it that way.
I spend most of my time with GPL, but I see that GPL mid-ohio requires a
track converter (which I'd like to avoid messing with); any other options?
Thanks -- itazura

You really should buy the converter.  Well worth the money.  Plus it's the
only "no-piracy" option.  :-)

The GPL version is converted from ICR2, which was an awful attempt at
recreating Mid-Ohio.  Lots of elevation errors, and "minor" object placement
issues like putting the start stand on the wrong side of the track. ;-)

CART Precision Racing had a better rendition that was ported to NASCAR Heat,
SCGT, and I believe the EA F1 titles.

You should have a great time.  Mid-Ohio is a beautiful facility, and it's
very easy to walk around the grounds to see the entire track.

Feel free to drop me an email privately if you need any other help on
hotels/directions/etc.

Thanks for the information -- and for your generous offer to provide more
info via e-mail.  Looks, at this stage, like we're all squared away with
accomodations and what not, but I'll jot down your e-mail addy just in case.
Definitely looking forward to the weekend, as I've heard nothing but good
things about the track.
