Buzzing Speakers?

Several days ago my speakers started buzzing non-stop, and it is getting
very annoying.  I can't think of anything I changed that would have
caused this.  They are the standard half-circle speakers that came with
my P75 Acer.  I tried unplugging the lead from the computer, and they
still buzz.  Even with the computer and monitor off they buzz.  It buzzes
over all games and sound.  If I turn the sound all the way down it goes
away, and if I turn them all the way up, it gets a little quieter.

Are they shot, or could there be another cause?

  Or you could have a power wire running next to your speaker audio
wire causing a 60hz hum.

Whatever happened it stopped now.  It might have been the other wires.
