Sorry to tell you, but the person you talked to at Sierra has no clue
about the game.  While this bug does exist with the minimum
installation, with the full install you can save setups under any name
you choose.

Well, I don't know where their tech support gets their info from, but
I've been saving setups and their names quite easily, and can be pulled
down from the arrow menu just as easily.  Just pull up an existing setup,
change the settings, then click on the name and it will turn yellow w/ a
cursor. Then change the name and hit enter or return. Voila ! A new setup
with your own name !

Yes you SURE CAN save SETUPS. I got the game last friday and have
already saved over 20 setups!! Just click on the setup name, it will
turn yellow, then put in your own mane for your new setup!! It couldnt
be easier!!

Well Dominic, not only are you rude you are incorrect.

You can save setups under new names, like saving ACE as Race etc.

I find that odd as I have saved a few setups and they seem to be there
everytime I need them, or are you referring to the partial install?

Just spent over 10 minutes with Sierra's telephone tech support and found
out that you all who say you can change the names of set-ups like the
manual says are full of sh!t.

Sierra openly says that the manual is wrong and that you can only save on
top of ACE, EASY, QUALIFY, and FAST.

Sorry to ruin everyones day with the truth.

BTW, Sierra says that there are no other bugs in N2, other than the save
game and save setup.

I haven't had much time to play with it a lot yet, but I HAVE saved
setups.  Iv'e recalled them from the drop down list and MY data is
them.  I've even verified while in the car using the F? keys.  Maybe
this bug effects different machines differently?  Not sure.

Who said do it like the way the manual says?  As to being full of shit,
you pretty much lead the club.  I have sent you email explaining how to do
it, not to explain how the manual says.  If you can't understand and follow
simple instructions,  sell your computer to someone who can and stop
wasting the world's resources!  Stop calling the people who man the tech
support lines.  Most are just reading off of a damn piece of paper someone
else wrote, and are as computer literate as you seem to be.

The damn setup save feature works fine on my FULL install.  If you didn't
do a full install, do so, save a few setups and STFU!

Yes, manual is wrong.  So is your above statement.  You can save, I have
saved, I even created a save file named Dumbasses ( before I learned of the
minimal install bug, I thought you were all stupid :-) ) just to see if it
works.  Apparently the save names can only be 7 charaters in length,
because it is listed as Dumbass instead.

Sorry to slap you with a bucket of reality, not ' truth ', or ' tech
support ' BS.  The dang thing works.

Guess you belived that one too, huh?  They ( Papy, not Tech support )
aren't saying the missing save game feature is a bug, just that they didn't
have the time or the inclination to put it in this version.

Gee, I didn't have any problems at all creating new setups and saving
them...(not that any of 'em are any GOOD mind you!)

Ohhhhh.  I did not know that.  Tech support said it.  That makes all the
difference.  hahahahaha

Until it gets patched. Right??? If not that would be a serious design flaw.

Well, if true at least they recognize these as problems :-)

Robert,

I've sent this guy email as well. But you can be damn sure I won't be
sending him any more. I don't waste my time with people like him.

Well I don't condone the inflammatory language used in this post, but I
for one would like to have the 60+ MB of hard drive space back from having
to do a full install after I found that a min. install didn't bring up new
setups in the load menu.  I hope that this is addressed quickly by
Papyrus.
