Big Thanks to Alison Hine!

by Racer » Fri, 02 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Just wanted to publicly thank Alison Hine for the great job she has done
with her Grand Prix Legends site, as well as her helpful posts to this
newsgroup! I have been consumed with GPL since purchasing it yesterday, and
her site has provided much insight and help with configuring my machine for
maximum on-line performance, car setups, and just an amazing overall
resource for racing information and links. If you have not checked it out
already, head to http://www.racesimcentral.net/~alison/gpl/

If she's not paid by Sierra/Papyrus, she should be. I also can't wait to
read Steve Smith's Advanced Setup Guide addendum to his excellent GPL book,
which will be available on Alison's site as well. Its good to see all the
helpful GPL posts, and informative debate going on in r.a.s since the
GPL release. Maybe r.a.s is reverting back to the way it was a few years
ago? (Now I sound like some old codger -"Back in my day......")

Anyway, thanks to Papyrus for such a great sim(well worth the wait), Alison
for the great site, and all the other r.a.s "usual suspects" who give their
time and talent so freely. (Sounds pretty sappy, but its the truth).

I agree!  It's a great web site.  Everything is well written and planned
out.  The Papy cup reports are fun to read.  I usually check them weekly
to see who has won!  Keep up the great work! (looking forward to reading
some setup guides soon! :) )  It good to see the increase in posts on
r.a.s. in the past couple of days!  The past few months it's been
averaging around 100-120 posts a day (estimate).  On Wednesday I came
home from University to find 268 posts waiting for me to look through!

Later,
John

Yep, I totally agree, add my thanks to Alison, its not fair that she
is so knowlegable, so fast and has such a good GPL/sim site, and....
she's a girl!!!  Where is my male ego, oh yeah, its skulking down on the
ground!  ;-)  Well done Alison, keep up the good work.
