It really would be a shame if no future updates are planned, but how
about suplying us with editors so we can update GP2 ourselves ? It has
been done before, for other games I mean, but also F1GP basically did
the same thing. They didn't have the rights then to use the real names
of the drivers, so they delivered the game with random names, letting us
fill in the real ones !

A car/driver/helmet/hp (etc,etc) editor, shouldn't be too hard for
Microprose to come up with !

See Ya, Eddy

There are no plans to publish any expansion discs for GP2 at this time.

The reason is simple.  We do not have the legal rights to use anything
other than 1994 tracks, drivers, teams, etc.

I guess some other developer might have the rights to the 96
names and teams. I know Papyrus is supposed to release some
type of GP sim but I heard it was in the days of Gilles Villeneuve.
Lets hope its not some company like Sega. Wait! Are there still
Sega signs on billboards at races? I hope not!

They will wait for the techno head players to write these type of utils
Saves them spending money to do this,

As much as I love GP2 I feel the time it took to write leaves a lot to be
desired, 1994 teams is a bad option, & the lack of tire info during
a race is a let down,

& the lack of tyre options is another ***oo as 97 season will
have 2 type manufactures.

If a person who did not follow the saga of GP2 they would look at the
box & thinj ahhh 1994 teams this product must be 2 years old.

It really needs 96 teams to give the illusion its 1996 S/W

Also people have changed the names in the driver names file
but even thought its micheal driving the Ferrari does it still
not retain the driver charistics of Berger ??

Not so IMHO.  People are already working on paintkits and I`ve seen a
damage editor somewhere (thank God).  I`m _guessing_ it won`t be too
long before editors for driver skills start appearing.  There was no
expansion pack for F1GP and that lasted five years!

F1GP seemed to have a pretty good innings for a game without expansion
discs or the like - the PC version came out about 1991 didn't it - was
the Atari version out before then???

If it's quality, it won't need gimics, add ons or the like so much - and
it'll probably be a year or two before you (??? me certainly!) are
playing it with it's full graphical capability (ie a machine powerful
enough....)

My two pence worth.....

Cheers!

The Atari version came out in April 1992.  The Amiga version a month
or two prior to that.
The PC version must have been 1993.
