Help... which wheel should I get?

by Stev » Tue, 27 Nov 2001 23:24:51

Hi guys, I need some help in choosing a wheel.

Between the following two wheels which would you go for;

A. Guillemot/Thrustmaster's Ferrari GT with Force Feedback
B. Logitech's Wingman Formula Force GP

I'd appreciate any info, pro's & con's, etc. I'm leaning towards the Ferrari
GT FF, it looks like a more solid wheel.

Thanks!
Steve

If you can afford the extra cost I'd go with the Logitech Momo.
If you are in Canada and want to pay the shipping I can sell you my Logitech
GP that I bought in July.

I like the Momo, but it's a bit (actually a lot) out of my budget.

I can still recommend you to save a bit of money then and still go for
the Momo.. It's really muchos better than the LWGP..

You should the thread above yours about my problems with the
Guillemot/Thustmaster Wheel.  It is really a nightmare trying to get
it running.  The support on their web site is pretty much non-existant
(the FAQ consists of a single statement, paraphrased:  If you're
having problems with our wheel, its somebody else's software's fault).

I wish now I had purchased the ACT Labs combo that so many people on
here like.   (I will probably end up with it anyway at the rate things
are going, unfortunately, as the TM wheel no longer works).

Go with the Logitech, it seems to be one of the most popular.
I got one for my niece for her birthday a couple weeks ago, and was pretty
impressed with it.

If you were looking for one word to describe the Thrustmaster/Ferrari wheel,
"solid" would not spring readily to mind.

Thx for posting, Robert.  Those comments seem to apply correctly to the PC
versions, even though the review was written for a PS2 audience.  --Steve
