my own clash

Just for grins I ran my own Busch Clash in Nascar 2 Sunday using the
Talledega track. I set the temp to 68 and the wind to North at 10 mph,
just like CBS said before the real thing. Other settings were:
length-6%(11 laps), opp. strength-103%, driv. mode-realistic,
weekend-basic, yellow flags on, pace lap on, player breakdowns-on,
damage-realistic. I used the 97 cars from from IWCC Cars to complete the
field of 15 including myself and using only those drivers who were in
the real Clash. Starting from the back as if I had already won the first
segment, I won passing Rusty with two to go. I was just wondering if
anyone else tried this. It was a blast, and I set a new personal track
record during this race. 48.437 or 197.700 mph. Man it was a lot more
exciting than the real thing.

Good idea.  I was going to do the same thing, but had to finish
cleaning the house instead.

Unfortunately, cleaning the bathroom was more exciting than the real thing.

Oh the joys of restrictor plate racing.

my own clash

I just want to clear up a few things about my previous post, since I had
some inquiries about it. This was WITH the restictor plate, and with the
modified artificial intelligence for the computer cars from THE PITS web
site. Yesterday, I also ran a mock 125 with the same settings as my mock
clash with the exception of lowering the wind speed to eight mph and
increasing the race length to 25% or 47 laps. In this race, while in a
three car draft between Mark M. in front and Dale E. behind, I set
another personal lap record of 48.400 or 197.851 mph!!!

To achieve a lap speed like this you must be in a heavy drafting
situation and have balls of steel. Never, ever lift. If you have to hit
the car in front of you because there is no where else to go, so be it.
You can bump draft with the other cars with no ill effects.

For those who asked, here is the race setup:
