Can't get Daytona to work

Can't get Daytona to work

by Joel Willste » Mon, 08 Dec 1997 04:00:00

I downloaded a copy of Daytona from a web site, and installed
it in a folder named DIS. I have already installed a 98 season
calander that includes both Daytona races, yet my race drop down menu
in the sim doesn't have either Dayatona race listed.

Anyone have any ideas on how I can get Daytona to
work?

I installed a copy of Indy and it works just fine.

Thanks,

Joel Willstein

I installed "Daytona" in the USA directory, let it load and pack the Talladega
files and when I run, my car doesn't stay on the track.  What I mean is the
track banks and my car stays low.  Like racing on Daytona, but the graphics are
Taladega.  the tracks aren't the same, and I'm driving through the grass, under
the track, way above the track, etc.  I've had problems with previous "Daytona"
tracks.  I think it's a sham.  If anyone has a REAL fix for this, let me know.

Joel,

Does your calendar file(nascar98.cal if you have the BGNSEP, calendar if
not), have the DIS line?  It should read:

1 2 28 0 0 DIS Daytona_500 Daytona_500

The DIS must EXACTLY MATCH the directory you installed Daytona in.  If it's
not in DIS, it won't work.  Email me and tell me what happens.
