Waiting for your track pack to arrive from Papyrus?  Just got toasted by your
friend in a multiplayer race and need to vent a little frustration?  Then it's
time for STUPID NASCAR TRICKS!!

Trick I.: Set the opponent strength to about 90%, and the number of
opponent cars to the maximum available (38 I believe?), and the pace
lap ON.  Go to the Atlanta track, and skip qualifying (i.e., start
from the back).  Start the race, and stay back from the *entire* pack
about 100 yards or so (i.e., no blocking of one column of cars
allowed, you must be behind _all_ of the other cars).  Wait for the
green to come out, and then the kicker - pass the _entire_ field
before the completion of the first lap, without taking any cars out;
i.e., you must be in first place when the pit board showing completion
of the first lap appears on your screen, and the entire rest of the
field must still be intact and running.  Further, no "restrictor plate
removal" / shortcut / whatever tricks are allowed - all passes must be
made legally, and upon the racing surface proper.

Once you've done it, start increasing the opponent strength... what's the
maximum strength you can set it at and still accomplish the above?

Me: 95% (though I haven't tried it yet at higher strengths - I'm quite sure
it can be done up to 97%, maybe even all the way to 100%).

p.s.: feel free to post your own Stupid NASCAR Tricks so I can be entertained
until the Track Pack arrives.  Or tell me to get a life - either is fine. :-)

i tried at 95% and did it, i believe it is impossible to be done at 100%
i don't think anyone will ever be able to do that at 100% because they
go to quick.

Well, since you insist.  Get a life.  There.  Enough said, end of thread.

Ha-ha, thanks Mike! :-)  I'm actually surprised no one tried it - if
you get where you can pull it off regularly (like me), you're basically
guaranteed to win at Atlanta.  Not particularly useful if you're playing
alone, but if you're in a points-paying multiplayer race, it's something
to keep in mind...

Well, I guess we'll never know if it can be done at 100% - now that I've got
Flight Unlimited, I doubt I'll be bored enough to waste time trying. :-)
