High Gear HQ this morning. I took a quick look at the game and you can find
my findings at http://www.racesimcentral.net/
isn't pretty....
Enjoy!

Andi.
The game was sent to me, but someone in the UK told me he saw the box in a
store...I wouldn't be too enthusiastic, though...

got it in PC World (UK) yesterday and am very disappointed - looks great but
plays like Everton
as the review says - same engine sounds for each model, can't notice any
difference between the physics of different models, no damage modelling and
handling that makes me glad to return to the assured twitchiness of Rally
Championship
can't believe they've done in game, picture within picture TV coverage,
without getting the basics right first
getting very bad stutter/freezes also - have a p3 450 with voodoo3 3000
which plays everything, inc RC, fine but is really struggling with this for
no apparent reason - think it could be sound settings but i have it on the
lowest setting, 2D positional as recommended in the readme - any ideas?
also can't believe that a company has produced such good cars (at least over
here) as KA, Puma and Focus (all of which are in the game, although i've
only driven KA so far) would let this out to represent themselves
if there is a decent game where you can dive a KA or Focus - presumably CMR2
will be the next one - please let me know if i have missed something
as a Ford fan i would have got this game whatever but the fact there has
been no demo and a sneaky release shows what type of game this is - the car
company equivalent of the old movie tie in games which were basically sub
standard products with a name or logo on the front to sell it
as i'm not a regular poster, you may need info to gauge my reactions - i'm
not a GPL or DTR fan (i am English) - am a big Rally Championship fan with
the same reservations about stop dead physics and my favourtie driving games
are what seems to be considered arcade in this forum i.e. CMR2 and TOCA2
