Which Simulator???

Well I have just got a new computer, Pentium 233MMX, Orchid 3DFX card and
all the other good bits that you guys really don't need to know about. My
question is this. Which Simulator should I buy. CART PR, Grand Prix 2
(probably my favourite), Indycar 2, NASCAR 2, International Rally
Championship, and any others that I can't think of right now. I like all
kinds of motor sport and race a go kart so the driving has to be very
realistic for me to like it. Oh and another thing I have access to just
about every single game available as I work in a Software Retail store.
Thanks a lot for your opinions.

First buy Grand Prix 2, Then IndyCar2 then NASCAR 2, then International
Rally.
In fact with that system, just buy EVERY game.

Hi Kevin,

I think you should get NASCAR2, CART PR, and then GP2. For the 3Dfx, you'll
find that CART PR is the only sim to support it. NASCAR2 will look very
smooth and run at a high frame-rate with the P233. GP2 will be unable to run
at a drivable frame-rate with all the options turned on, there is no PC fast
enough right now to do the graphics right in GP2, it desperately needs
Hardware 3D-acceleration support and a re-design of the way the game speed
is linked to the frame-rate. I suggest the 3 above because it gives you a
bit of every kind of racing <G>. You might also want to look at UBI's F1
Simulation, as far as graphics are concerned (especially using a 3Dfx card)
I've seen nothing that even comes close to it in a racing game.

Regards,

Eyo Sama

Hi Kevin,
I would suggest that the best thing to do would be to try out demos of
as many of these as you can (or since you work in a software retail
store, you may have access to the full games) and see which ones you
like.  I haven't played CART PR but all of the others are very good
simulators of their chosen racing type, Indycar 2 and Nascar 2 are
similar in appearence, both being papyrus games using the same engine.
But they are different in gameplay and driving.  I suppose it depends on
what you can afford and how much time you have to play with them.

Quentin.
