Accolade's TD off-road sucks!

Accolade's TD off-road sucks!

This is a warning. I just got accolades new off-road "car" sim game.
Here is my setup. Pentium 133Mhz, 32Mb ram, win95, Rendition 3D
acceleration
card 4Mb supporting Direct3D, SB16, SoundCanvas MIDI box, NEC 6X 4CD
changer,
CH yoke, with CH pedals.

1) First off, the game did NOT run under windows95. It switched to full
screen and showed what
looked like colorful noise. I rebooted into MS-DOS to run the game.

2)  It only works with ThustMaster pedals, and the calibration process is
tricky. When finally
succeeded to calibrate, it used the LEFT pedal as the accelerator??
Isn't standard, the gas
is on the RIGHT, and the brake on the LEFT.

3) It did not support my 3D card. In fact it is not DirectX compatible!!!!
The game has three
video modes it works with .. VGA, ModeX, SVGA.   VGA resolution is (as
expected) really
bad. In anything else it is very slow and jerky. I got like 2 frames a
second with SVGA
and in combination with the un-realistic steering (#4) is was
uncontrollable.

4) The "physics" behind the game are a joke. Compared to Monster Truck
Madness,
Need for speed, ICR2, GP2  the game is a joke. For example with just a
bit of the
accelerator if you turn the wheel, it seems as if you are turning on the
dime. In addition
to the kinematical discrepancies, the frictional behavior is totally
un-realistic.

5) The effects of gravity were unreasonable. If you go over a hill with
what appears to
be a high rate of speed, you don't make a jump over it, but the car
follows the road
as if you were glued to the ground.

DO NOT SPEND THE $40 I DID for this game. Thank god CompUsa has 30day
returns.

Also the in car view still looks like Test Drive 2 and 3 from way back
when.

After playing this game for some time, and getting used to the awkward
handling and physics, I've come to enjoy it quite abit.
